I have retired this site and moved to my own hosting provider in order to gain greater control of my content and provide you with a better experience.
The new site is named SharePoint Diaries and is available at:
http://www.sharepointdiaries.com
All my old content has been migrated across. If you are having difficulty locating an old article, try replacing sharepointgear.wordpress.com with sharepointdiaries.com in the url. The new site also has a search function at the top-right corner of each page that will help you locate migrated articles.
Unfortunately, I have not wired this individual page up yet. All the articles are there though. Please search for 70-541 to see the articles.
Thanks to everyone who visited SharePointGear and thanks for the encouraging feedback. It’s your kind words that have prompted me to move to paid hosting and evolve the site.
Please visit http://sharepointdiaries.com and feel free to drop me a line 🙂

I am taking the exam the day after tomorrow (april 2) and am totally freaked out. Do not have much sharepoing programming experience but I have read the book inside wss cover to cover, also performed all the tasks given in the microsoft prep guide. Pray that I pass 😦
Nice blog here!
Shilpadesh,
Good luck with the exam. I’ve heard people say that Inside WSS is a perfect study guide for the exam. Let me know how you go. You’re brave taking the exam without any programming experience; it took me six months for this to fully sink in and appreciate how it all fits together.
Hey Just wanted to let you know I passed the exam today with a score of 814! I might be taking 70-631 next.
Congrats!
Feel free to email with with any tips for making my study guide more relevant to the exam.

Hi,
I’ve passed the exam with 942 points.
I’ve study a lot … from sharepoint bible: Inside WSS by Ted Pattison and from WSS 3.0 SDK.
I wont tell you details from the exam except one: they are quests from Microsoft.SharePoint.WebPartPages 😦 ..and not from System.Web.UI.WebControls.WebParts …I’m not agree with that and MS must review the exam.
Good luck to all !
Ovidiu,
Thanks for that information. I’ll take it into consideration when I do the web parts section and I’ll include information for working with both classes.
I think that namespace is a bit of a mess, anyway… and you’re right, Microsoft should make it perfectly clear how you’ll be tested.
Hi Fodi,
Its really a good work. When I was searching resources (materials) for MCTS, i got may about the dumps sites, but some time i got good one like yours. I believe this helps me a lot for my preparation. Thanks again and let you know once i completed the exam (i just started the preparation).
Thanks
Kousikan.
i think this is great that you have this study guide for others to use! so helpful!
